Read to get an idea about embroidery

I have always been fascinated to embroidered clothing. It is something that has never failed to impress me. So much so was my inclination towards embroidered clothing that I wanted to know all about embroidery and finally I started learning it. The more I learnt, the more I wanted to share my knowledge, thinking that there may be people like me who are interested in the art. This blog is my one such effort for the people who are curious about embroidery. Though, this one is just a glimpse into the world of embroidery, I am hopeful that the readers would like this easy, simple and basic blog. So, I would talk about various types of embroidery designs:

  • Clothing embroidery designs – This is the one that I came across just when I started exploring about embroidery. Yes! It is the first kind of design that I learnt about, reason being that it is the most popular embroidery design and is easily accessible everywhere, in local markets and most importantly on the internet. I found it quite easy as the digitized version of the design can be downloaded from the website and sewn on garments using computerized embroidery machines. These designs can be seen on men’s wear, children’s clothing, fashion wear, ladies garments, etc.
  • Household embroidery designs – As the name suggests, these designs are for household garments. These designs are the most useful ones as you can sew them on any piece of garment, use them and hence adorn your home. From colour, design to the fabric, everything depends on the kind of household item that needs to be embroidered.
  • Logo embroidery designs – Demand for the logo design is completely different from that of the above two kinds of designs. In this kind of design, the focus is completely on the texts, outlines, size and artwork. You might be well aware that it is usually seen on garments like T-shirts, Sweatshirts, jackets, etc.
  • Note – For those who want to make a living out of embroidery, this one can earn them big amounts if they start a business of making logos for brands/companies.
  • Embroidery on anything – These designs can be seen on almost anything, from baseball caps, shoes, gloves, tie, to any other kind of clothing or fabric. They are usually custom-made designs that can also be ordered from the internet.

Well up till now, I talked about a few kinds of designs, but now I’ll brief you about something that will be helpful in letting you stitch out your own design. So firstly, since you are beginning to embroider, you should do it on another piece of fabric and when you get a clear idea of the look, size and how it would come out on the actual fabric, then you should do it on the fabric of your choice. Secondly, choose the colour of the thread wisely, see that the combination of colours are perfectly matching. Lastly, select the hoop that is firm enough to hold the fabric tightly and don’t forget to make sure that there’s enough thread on the bobbin and all your tools are in order before you start giving life to your imagination.
This was all that I want to share as of now, I’ll be writing more about my experience in embroidery. Hope you got a better idea of embroidery than before. https://www.shirtworks.co.uk/embroidered-clothing.
